An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 5 furlongs out when Homegrownalligator (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Jodie Wingrove, interfered with Smokey Malone (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mr Ross Birkett.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Amateur, Miss Wingrove was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Miss Wingrove was suspended for 2 days, on dates to be notified by the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as she had angled her mount left-handed when insufficiently clear of Smokey Malone (GB), causing Birkett to steady after being tightened for racing room.
An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving the winner, Kingson, ridden by Mr Eireann Cagney, Homegrownalligator (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Jodie Wingrove, Smokey Malone (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mr Ross Birkett, and Lexington Bullet (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Thomasina Eyston.
Mr Cagney was suspended for 7 days, on dates to be notified by the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed into the bend when insufficiently clear of Homegrownalligator (GB) causing that runner to be checked and in turn tighten up Smokey Malone (GB) which was severely hampered when buffeted around and resulted in Lexington Bullet (GB) being heavily bumped on several occasions.
On the run to the line, Born To Please (GB), unplaced, had to be steadied when short of room inside The Game Is On (GB), unplaced, which had edged slightly left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
