C.T. Keane, rider of Secret Road trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stumbled on leaving the starting stalls
K.J. Leonard, rider of Coffeemeanscoffee trained by Tom McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was bumped about two furlongs from the finish
The Stewards enquired into possible interference about one furlong from the finish involving Secret Road, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth, and Hot Sunset (GB), ridden by James J. Doyle, placed fourth, where it appeared that Hot Sunset (GB) drifted outwards and possibly carried Secret Road wide. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.T. Keane stated that his mount was wearing headgear for the first time and any interference had no bearing on his final placing. James J. Doyle stated that his mount was lugging in behind the leaders and then began to run around before drifting toward Secret Road. Having considered the evidence and viewed the video recording, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action other than to advise James J. Doyle to ride with more care
