Kearney, unplaced, Hezahunk, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, unplaced, and Might And Mercy (GB), ridden by K.J
Leonard, unplaced, where it appeared C.J. MacRedmond had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.J. MacRedmond stated that he was going for a gap when it got tight for room and had to take a check
K.J Leonard stated that his charge was going backwards at the time of the incident. J. Kearney stated that he felt pressure from his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed C. Martins, rider of The Cola Brasil (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of R.10.3(g) and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found C. Martins was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for five racedays.
