D. McMonagle, rider of Selective Power, trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he dropped his reins at the two furlong marker and also that his mount ran around in the straight
R. Whearty, rider of Sin E Shekells (GB), trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left from the stalls and he received a bump from behind in the straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Theriverrunsdeep, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, unplaced, Selective Power, ridden by D. McMonagle, unplaced, and Sin E Shekells (GB), ridden by R. Whearty, unplaced, where it appeared Theriverrunsdeep had to check after his ground was taken. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he had to check back when Selective Power moved left into his path
D. McMonagle stated that his horse dived left after he gave him a flick but he corrected him with his reins as soon as possible. R. Whearty felt he kept straight and received contact from behind. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
