Permission was given for Sigmund (IRE), Desert Order (IRE), Lahab (GB) and Mahboobah (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
On the way over to the course from the Stables at the road crossing Yacowlef (IRE) slipped, the Veterinary Surgeon examined the colt, a further examination was conducted by the Veterinary Officer and the colt was deemed fit to race.
Inside the final furlong, the winner, Desert Order (IRE), shifted quickly left-handed intimidating Glenfinnan (IRE), placed second, moving it marginally off its intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Desert Order (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching one and half furlongs out, involving Single Track Mind (IRE), unplaced, ridden by P J McDonald and Three Yorkshiremen (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jamie Spencer.
The interference was found to be accidental as P J McDonald shifted right- handed off the heels of the rapidly weakening Salt Lake City (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Ryan Moore, at the same time as Spencer committed for the run on the strongly travelling THREE YORKSHIREMAN (IRE).
Following the race, Jamie Spencer reported that Three Yorkshiremen (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run.
