Permission was given for Clarendon House (GB) to go early to post; for Lazuli (IRE) and Raasel (GB) to wear a red hood to post; for Khaadem (IRE) and The Platinum Queen (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood; for Flotus (IRE) to go early to post, wearing a red hood to be mounted in the chute and Winter Power (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Flotus (IRE) kicked the rail when going down to the start.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the filly was deemed fit to race.
At the start, Flotus (IRE), unplaced, jumped right-handed as Khaadem (IRE), placed fourth, edged left- handed, which interfered with Winter Power (IRE) unplaced, which in turn interfered with New York City (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Khaadem (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the line when Khaadem (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Ryan Moore interfered with Lazuli (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Buick.
Moore was cautioned for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting left- handed causing Buick to be short of room.
