The Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Robert Guiscard, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Evidence was heard from D. W. O'Connor who accepted that he was in breach of the rule. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D. W. O'Connor was in breach of Rule 211 and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended D. W. O'Connor for one raceday
At the request of the Stewards, J.M. Sheridan, rider of Turbine, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not have the pace to make the running, which were his instructions, and then stayed on one paced and would most likely appreciate a step up in trip.
