The Stewards interviewed D.N. Curran, rider of Ardamir (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D. N. Curran was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency, and i, time to respond
Having considered D. N. Curran's record in this regard the Stewards suspended D. N. Curran for three racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Rodney Bay, trained by Joseph Anthony Murray, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-65 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
