An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out when the winner, Ten Chants (GB), ridden by Darragh Keenan, interfered with Blue Whisper (GB), placed fifth, ridden by William Humphrey.
Alistair Rawlinson, the rider of Universal Effect (GB), placed second, was also present in the enquiry but was found not to have been involved in the interference.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Humphrey was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Keenan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched his mount right, around the heels of Casaruan (GB), placed sixth, causing Blue Whisper (GB) to be checked in his run.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the line when Blue Whisper (GB), placed fifth, ridden by William Humphrey, interfered with Casaruan (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Luke Morris.
Humphrey was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left without sufficient correction, causing Morris to take a check.
The winner, Ten Chants (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 13 December 2020 where the gelding finished eighth of twelve, beaten by 9½ lengths.
David Evans’ representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the first-time application of a visor was noted.
Ten Chants (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Josephine Gordon reported that Mayson Mount (GB), placed seventh, hung right- handed.
