See also » Own-digs-deep-to-land-mares-contest She's tough and when she won her bumper she was as tough as anything as well. It took her a while to get a hang of the jumping and she never really got nice ground so we put her away after her last run,. She's a lovely filly to have and it's great that she's done this. Hopefully she can pick up a bit of black-type somewhere along the way for the lads. She's not short of pace and she'll go back on the Flat as well. They'll have plenty of options with her, she won a point-to-point as well so there's no reason why she can't go either way. It's great to get another winner as they've been running well without winning for the past two days. This gives me reason to celebrate and have the craic!' Peter Fahey, trainer
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference on the rise out of the dip involving A Law Of Her Own, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, Cottie, ridden by M.P. O'Connor, placed fifth, Influential Lady, ridden by K
Callaghan, unplaced, and Aurora Princess, ridden by D. Meyler, placed second, where it appeared that interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D. Meyler stated that he had space when he manoeuvered out to challenge but the gap closed from his outer. K. Callaghan stated that his mount was hanging left from halfway and he was aware that A Law Of Her Own was on his inner but it got tight from his outer. Sam Ewing stated that there was room to challenge between horses but it closed from his outer. M.P
O'Connor stated that he was riding tight to the rail when receiving pressure from his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that K. Callaghan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned K. Callaghan on this occasion
S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Feet Of A Dancer (FR), trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was squeezed out at the back of the second last hurdle
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference close to the finish involving A Law Of Her Own, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, and Aurora Princess, ridden by D. Meyler, placed second, where it appeared that interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, Sam Ewing stated that both horses were racing close together going to the finish but he felt that his mount maintained a straight course while also receiving a slight bump. D. Meyler stated that his mount was lugging in towards A Law Of Her Own but he straightened her when racing tight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that D. Meyler was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned D. Meyler on this occasion.
