An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final two furlongs involving Lafan (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Rossa Ryan, Eminent Hipster (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch, Grey Fox (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sean Levey, and the winner, Toronado Grey (GB), ridden by Tom Queally.
Ryan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed away from the whip taking Grey Fox (IRE) off its intended line causing it to make contact with Eminent Hipster (IRE), which in turn made contact with and turned the quarters of Toronado Grey (GB), and as a result Eminent Hipster (IRE) had to be checked by Crouch.
The winner, Toronado Grey (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Salisbury on 12 June 2022, where the gelding finished last of sixth runners, beaten by 20 ½ lengths.
The representative of Gary Moore's explanation that Toronado Grey (GB) had benefitted from a return to the all- weather was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Ross Coakley reported that Billy Mill (GB), placed second, hung right-handed under pressure.
