Permission was given for Accelerando (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and for Fantasy Navigator (GB) to wear a red hood and to go early to post.
Marco Ghiani, the rider of Accelerando (IRE), drawn 11, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ghiani was suspended for 1 day.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Top Exhibit (GB), placed third, ridden by Hollie Doyle, Accelerando (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Marco Ghiani, Captain's Bar (GB), placed second, ridden by Alec Voikhanksy, and the winner, Fantasy Navigator (GB), ridden by Ray Dawson.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Voikhansky was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry was declined.
Ghiani was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift right-handed when insufficiently clear, making contact with Top Exhibit (GB) which bumped Captain's Bar (GB) causing it to shift right-handed and turn the quarters of Fantasy Navigator (GB).
Rounding the home bend, Luna Queen (GB), unplaced, shifted slightly right-handed moving Essencial (IRE), placed fifth, marginally off its line and causing the rider of Twilight Revenge (GB), unplaced, to take a check.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Masterclass (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
David Simcock's explanation that the gelding ran freely to post and was unsuited by being unable to gain cover from a wide draw was noted; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner, Fantasy Navigator (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Nottingham on 17 May 2022, where the gelding finished seventh of 10, beaten by 7 ½ lengths.
The representative of Michael Appleby explained that Fantasy Navigator (GB) had appreciated a return to the all-weather and a drop in class; her explanation was noted.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Top Exhibit (GB), placed third, hung badly right-handed under pressure.
