Permission was given for Moore Clouds (IRE) to go early to post and to wear a hood in the parade ring only.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Jet Of Dreams (IRE), ridden by James Bowen and trained by Warren Greatrex, which was ridden in rear to stay on to finish second, beaten 20 lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race; and the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding during routine testing and reported that Jet Of Dreams (IRE) was lame right-fore.
The rider stated his instructions were to get the gelding settled in the early stages being conscious that it was his first run after a 198-day break.
Bowen stated that Jet Of Dreams (IRE) ran freely to the first fence before making a bad mistake and finding himself a few lengths out of his ground as a result.
He added that the gelding hung left-handed but was happy to allow the horse to maintain this racing line as he had found better ground.
Bowen explained that Jet Of Dreams (IRE) was still not travelling as strongly as he would have liked and needed to maintain niggling him along to keep competitive.
Bowen then added that as he made some progress down the back straight his mount made another bad mistake at the second last down the back straight before the turn for home losing several lengths and his position again.
Bowen further added that the gelding gradually passed some weakening horses for his urgings to finish second, which in his opinion had obtained the best possible placing.
After hearing the rider’s evidence and reviewed the footage the Stewards noted his explanation.
Following the race, Henry Brooke reported that Coolmoyne (GB), unplaced, made several jumping mistakes.
