The winner, Ben Buie (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract 25 June 2023, where the gelding finished fourth of five, beaten 37 ½ lengths.
The explanation given by Martin Keighley, that Ben Buie (IRE) benefitted from the reapplication of the visor and being able to dominate in front, was noted.
Following the race, Harriet Dickin reported that CHEER’S DELBOY (IRE), which was pulled up, made a respiratory noise and James Best reported that Lonimoss Bareliere (FR), unplaced, was outpaced and made a mistake at the fifth fence.
