The Starter reported that Da Vinci Hand (IRE) had refused to race.
Joanne Foster was interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As the gelding had also refused to line up at Newcastle on 16 May 2023 and at Catterick on 02 February 2024, its behaviour was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Having reviewed the start the Stewards were satisfied that Da Vinci Hand (IRE) had refused to race and was deemed to be a runner.
The performance of Eveque (FR), which started second-favourite and finished fifth, was considered.
Jane Walton’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Soft, Heavy in places ground on this occasion, which in her opinion was riding tacky, was noted.
Eveque (FR) was routine tested.
