The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last involving Nucky Johnson, ridden by B.J
Cooper, placed second and The Big Doyen, ridden by K.C. Sexton, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B.J. Cooper stated he got carried right by The Big Doyen and in his opinion it cost him the winning of the race. K.C. Sexton felt the interference was minimal and that he did not improve his finishing position as a reult of the interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that The Big Doyen had caused interference to Nucky Johnson and as a result had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the first and second placed horses and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Nucky Johnson Second: The Big Doyen Third: Hunters Yarn Fourth: Clonshire River Fifth: Sonny May Sixth: Ellis Boyd Redding The Raceday Stewards took no further action.
