Miss M. O'Sullivan, rider of Mrs Grimley trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount stumbled independently early in the straight for no apparent reason. The Stewards subsequently reviewed the incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted

Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 15th March) may also ride in this race.
