The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of New Barn Lane, ridden by G.B. Noonan, and trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. G.B. Noonan, stated that his instructions were to drop New Barn Lane out to get him settled and then ride a race on him thereafter. He further added that he was reasonably happy with how the race went but would have preferred if he had settled better adding that after making a mistake at the 2nd last his chance was finished from there on. Eoin Christopher McCarthy, gave a breakdown of the horse stating that he is very buzzy and can be very keen. He also stated that he ran very keen on his only previous start and didn't eat up for a number of days after so he was adamant that the importance of today was to get him to settle and take it from there. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that New Barn Lane was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered by both the rider and trainer however they reminded G.B. Noonan to be more aware of his obligations under the provisions of Rule 212
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Parnell One trained by Paul John Gilligan was found to have mucus on its lungs following a post race scope.
