A game front-running performance from What Odds, who stuck to his guns well when strongly pressed from the second last.

Challenged on both sides by Slyguff Rory and Hold The Pin he galloped on resolutely.

Hold The Pin looked set for victory when coming to join the winner approaching the last but was steadied and ran down the fence.

This was probably the difference as What Odds gained an advantage, which he fought well to preserve.

Slyguff Rory moved through on the inside turning for home and made his effort running to the second last. He had no more to offer approaching the last and kept on.

Jack The Hough had shown little on his last three chase starts but ran much better here.

Backed at big prices in the morning (40/1 to 16/1) he moved up to second after the fourth last but was ridden at the next and had no more to offer before two out.

Aghawonan improved to third four out but came under pressure turning in and was done with after three out.

Penny Hall made a mistake at the seventh and was pulled up before the tenth.
