The maiden hurdle won by Give It Time at Navan earlier this month couldn't be working out much better with that mare subsequently gaining a back type success at Limerick. Runner-up Let Yourself Go also did his bit for the form last weekend, and third-placed PINK SUITCASE got off the mark here.

The two miles and three furlongs took a bit of getting on this testing surface and, while the giant-sized gelding always looked like getting there in the straight, a tendency to hang left meant the victory was made a little more difficult. Supported from 8/1 in the morning down to 4/1 at the off time, he is every inch a chaser in the making.

The lightly-raced LORD CEBELLINO and ROSANAVIC shared the pace-setting duties, and both kept on well from the home turn as very few of the 24 runners got in a blow. Rosanavic was not done any favours by the winner when slightly hampered soon after the last, while GRAB A GRAND also got a bit trapped on the far rail before the last as the winner hung left.

QUARRYFIELD LASS, a Navan bumper winner over four years ago and still a maiden over hurdles at the age of 10, made smooth headway behind the leaders before three out but could find no extra in the straight, while THE RALL was the big disappointment of the race. He seemed to really labour on the ground and, having been in trouble from four out, could only plug on one paced from the second last.

SUPREME DESIGN lost considerable ground at the start.
