IMAALHALL appears the type to keep a bit for himself, and could be value for a good bit more than his length winning margin. Shane Hassett needed to continually shake-up his mount and slap him on the neck to keep his mind on the job and, after a bold jump at the last, he visibly idled in front.
MATCHBOOK was produced between horses after two out to hold every chance and, while no match for the winner in the closing stages, stretched clear of the remainder. He will go up a few pounds for this performance but can surely gain a modest handicap win.
GOT THE URGE, backed from 6/1 to 4/1, jumped to the front four out and soon set sail for home. Having previously made the frame over longer trips, this appeared logical tactics but he was soon beaten when headed between the final two flights. ARKENDALE stayed on best of the pack to take third place at a respectable distance.
BORN HIGH ran better than his finishing position would suggest. Full of running when up with the pace four out, he dropped away quickly in the straight to finish in rear. The four-year-old has yet to race on decent ground over hurdles, and may fair better in time.
