Having jumped the last flight, Hometown Hero (IRE), placed fourth, ducked sharply left-handed, severely hampering Castle Robin (IRE), placed third, and the winner, Es Perfecto (IRE).
Having been corrected by its rider, the gelding then veered sharply right-handed carrying Castle Robin (IRE) off its intended racing line on the run to the winning post.
Having initially called a Stewards Enquiry, following receipt of the result of the photo finish from the Judge, the Stewards were satisfied that as Hometown Hero (IRE) had finished behind both runners with which it had interfered, the placings were not affected and as no riding offence had taken place no further action was taken.
Following the race, Harry Skelton reported that Hometown Hero (IRE), placed fourth, hung both ways and Kielan Woods reported that Norman Stanley (IRE) which was pulled up, had slipped and became unbalanced on the bend going away from the stands.
Laura Horsfall reported that Hit The Bottle (GB), unplaced, had a breathing problem.
