I just got out my (National Hunt) licence with Joseph O’Brien and I’ve been there since October. I'm delighted for Evan and I'm very friendly with his father Iggy. This horse will go for another handicap now and tip away on that ground. I was hopeful coming today as he was second here last year so it's horses for courses. We left the tongue-tie off him and left him with nothing on him and didn't even put a cross-noseband on him and it seemed to work. G T Lynch, trainer
D.N. Russell, rider of Misty Millie trained by Garvan Donnelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was off the bridle early
P.T. Enright, rider of Rebel Ace trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having never travelled during this race
The Stewards requested a report from G.T.Lynch, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Rock On Barney, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had raced at Limerick with a tongue strap and cross noseband fitted but ran very disappointing. Today those attachments were left off and cheek pieces were applied which appeared to have a positive effect. He further stated that his charge had shown a liking for this course having been placed here on two previous occasions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Zipporah trained by Miss Denise Marie O'Shea was noted to have lost a left fore shoe when observed post race

Following an inspection of the course by the Acting Stewards after the running of the Race 5 and in consultation with all relevant parties, the Stewards decided to abandon the remainder of the meeting owing to the deterioration in conditions due to fog, reduced visibility and light
