Owing to the low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence number 5 to be omitted from both circuits of this race. Miss J. Hughes, rider of Old Time Melody trained by Thomas Cooper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount stopped quickly after the second last.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards rated 0-109 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won.
