The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined So Messi, trained by Patrick Martin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its left fore post race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the start involving Eagles Reign, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed sixth, Believe Me Now, ridden by C. Horgan, unplaced, Ruler Of The River, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fifth, Angel Of The Sea, ridden by M.W Hassett, pulled up, Lisgin, ridden by Amy Jo Hayes, unplaced, and Curzon Queen, ridden by D.N. Curran, unplaced, where it appeared it got very congested resulting in a number of runners suffering interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In her evidence, Amy Jo Hayes stated that she received pressure from both sides soon after the start. M.W. Hassett stated that he received pressure from both sides. C. Horgan stated that he received pressure from both sides. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he received pressure from his right soon after the start. D.N. Curran stated that he received pressure from both sides soon after the start. J.A. Powell stated that his mount shifted left on crossing the road soon after the start. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
