Limerick Sat, 19th Oct, 2024  Redcliff Glen he has been disappointing every day he ran although his last couple of pieces of work had been better. We were hoping for the best and he (son Philip) said he'd go wide for the better ground. he had solid enough Flat form and we thought he'd have done something before now but never showed me much. He is ground-dependent and is more a horse for next summer.

Killarney Fri, 23rd Aug, 2024  One Look I was very disappointed the day she was beaten in Galway but, to be fair, there were positives to take out of that run and she backed it up in Gowran. She got her season back on track at Gowran and I thought she was in good form today. I think she likes confusion; it was the same in Gowran and also in the Goffs Million but seems to like coming through horses and has the class to do that. It was a wet, cold spring and some of these fillies can take a bit of time. She is a nice filly, is a stakes winner now and you'd imagine going to the Denny Cordell Lavarack Stakes in Gowran next month could be next.

Roscommon Tue, 20th Aug, 2024  Avondale I'd say soft ground probably suited him. He's a big horse, by Gleneagles, he's had a run over hurdles and we bought him as a dual purpose horse. He had never run on that ground before but all he does is gallop. The way the race panned out, he was able to use his stride. He hasn't that much racing done but looks like a national hunt horse and you could see him jumping a fence. We'll keep him going on the Flat for this campaign as he's only four and we'll keep him a maiden (over jumps) until next summer. we'll probably step him up in trip. If he goes up a bit more he might get into one of those better races off bottom weight. It was grand to get that done after the last day, everywhere he went he got murdered.

Curragh Sat, 10th Aug, 2024  Bold Optimist Ben (Coen) was enquiring about the ride during the week, and I thought that was a tip in itself,.

Leopardstown Thu, 25th Jul, 2024  Aeronautic He won well. He won nicely in Dundalk the last day and it was an impressive performance today, he quickened up well and he's a progressive horse,. He was much straighter today and the rail was a help. I thought he quickened up well, they went a good even tempo and there was no hiding place. It's nice to have a nice horse for the Newtown Anner team. I suppose he's heading for stakes race now, or at least a good handicap. I think anything like that (ground) or better is fine for him. I don't think he wants it too slow.

Killarney Mon, 15th Jul, 2024  Galen Galen was impressive and he stretched right out to the line. They went a good even gallop and he picked up. Dylan was very happy with him, said he was still babyish in front and said that he will be better in a better race with a lead. He looked pretty good. His debut run has turned out to be a very good run and he is now going the right way. His win at the Curragh the last day was on slower ground but Dylan thinks he loves the quick ground so going forward that will be key for him. A mile seems to be suiting him for now.

Fairyhouse Wed, 10th Jul, 2024  Four Blondes It was lovely to get a maiden with her, she's a filly that had good form last year at the Curragh. She finished fifth at the Curragh last time, Shane had ridden her work and was fairly confident with her. She had come on a good bit from the Curragh. You'd imagine that Curragh form was going to stand to her today as this mightn't have been the strongest of maidens. Aidan's came out and Joseph's came out so you could understand why she shortened in price. She deserved that on last year's form. She's by Gleneagles and wouldn't mind a little bit more ease in the ground. She's out of a six-time winning Exceed And Excel mare but seven furlongs to a mile would be fine. She can be a little bit saucy and has a little bit of a funny head carriage but she could be progressive. She came out of the breeze-ups here last year and it's brilliant for John (Bowden) to get a winner, she's a grand filly to have. She has a nice pedigree and to win a maiden with her will help.
