The Stewards interviewed A.P. Kelly, rider of She's Made It, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence A.P. Kelly stated that he was trying to keep his mount going but admitted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A.P. Kelly was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned A.P. Kelly on this occasion
The Stewards reviewed an incident on the approach to the first hurdle involving Howyated, ridden by R.A. Doyle, unplaced, Rock On Barney, ridden by Mr J.P. Kirwan, unplaced, Drimsree Lad, ridden by Mr N. Gault, unplaced and October Revolution, ridden by Derek McGrath, unplaced, where it appeared that the field was very bunched and some horses were tight for room. Having reviewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
