Glenquin Castle gets his four-timer after huge scare The market was all about Glenquin Castle in the three mile McGrath Oil Emily Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary but his backers got an almighty fright before he took the spoils. He had won his last three races over fences and competed off a 23lb lower mark switching back to hurdles. The 13/8 favourite moved well throughout for Mark Walsh and looked to be delivering a winning challenge at the last. He jumped it nicely and landed full of running as he began to assert, however, he idled in the closing stages and She's Made it got a sniff of victory on the inner. She made it a real battle close home but Glenquin Castle just held on by a nose from the 25/1 shot who also sported the JP McManus silks. Laughing Trix was three lengths back in third at 101/ with Time And Times giving his backers a place dividend in fourth at 6/1. McManus' racing manager Frank Berry said: "He was mad to give it away there and it’s lovely to get another win out of him. “He jumps fences great and can’t use his jumping as well over hurdles. It was a good opportunity off his mark over hurdles. “Martin has done a great job with him and he’s in great form at the moment. I’d imagine he’ll mix it between hurdles and fences. “The mare also ran really well and I’m delighted with her.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
