Permission was given for No Dress Rehearsal (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood.
The Starter reported that On The Right Track (GB) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 3:24pm.
Mark Usher was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner Andaleep (IRE), ridden by William Cox, interfered with Mephisto (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rob Hornby.
Given where the incident occurred in relation to the winning post and with the distance between the runners at the line being a fast diminishing nose, the Stewards were satisfied that on the balance of probabilities, the interference had improved Andaleep (IRE)’s placing and revised the placings as follows: First, Mephisto (IRE); Second, Andaleep (IRE).
Cox was cautioned for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his horse from drifting right-handed, bumping Mephisto (IRE) against the rail on a couple of occasions, causing Hornby to lose momentum at a crucial stage of the race.
Following the race, Cieren Fallon reported that WATER’S EDGE (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that Grey Fox (IRE), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
Dylan Hogan reported that Fair Power (IRE), which finished last of the ten runners, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding bled from the nose.
