I asked them to buy here having seen her cantering locally to me and they deserve a bit of luck. She's a good mare and will improve an awful lot after that. It wasn't a strong race and we thought she had a very good chance and there is a lot of improvement to come. She should make a nice mare over fences in a year's time. P J Rothwell, trainer
R.M. Power, rider of Butterhill Rose trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Butterhill Rose trained by Mrs John Harrington was lame post race. The Stewards enquired into an incident between the third and second last hurdles involving Butterhill Rose, ridden by R.M. Power, placed fourth, Temple Hall Flyer, ridden by P.D. Kennedy, unseated rider and Getaway Katie, ridden by D.J. Mullins, placed third, where it appeared that Temple Hall flyer ran short of room, stumbled and unseated his rider. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his excellent record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D.J. Mullins for 2 racedays.
