It would Be Rude Not To win
She is owned by a syndicate of lads (Jet Back Syndicate) who have been very lucky with two previous winners with me but it's three years since we've had one that was good. I asked them to buy here having seen her cantering locally to me and they deserve a bit of luck. She's a good mare and will improve an awful lot after that. It wasn't a strong race and we thought she had a very good chance and there is a lot of improvement to come. She should make a nice mare over fences in a year's time.
Moyross on an upward curve
When he won the last day, I said to you he mightn't stay too long over hurdles but after that we'll stay over hurdles and will probably come back here on November 5th now and there's also a Graded race in December. If he's ok, that'll be the plan. We bought him off Enda (Bolger) after he won his point-to-point. Last year, when he ran in a bumper Fairyhouse, I've a book at home when I write in the winners as they come and it's always a great feeling to put in another winner, but I nearly wrote him in before I went to the races! . I was talking to Gary (O'Brien, presenter) on Attheraces before the race and was never as confident of a horse winning in my life and he finished fourth and I couldn't believe it! . But that can happen in racing and it wasn't the first time and won't be the last time it'll happen and he had a small little wind op after that.
Flanagan completes double with new link-up
he might have won the first race but for the mistake (by his runner-up Glebe Girl at the last) and I was saying to myself ‘it’s good to get one’. He’s a not a bad horse and it took him a while to mature but he stays well and we’ll probably run over 2m4f next. He got a cracking ride from Sean and he’ll ride for me whenever he’s available as he’s a top class jockey.
Ballyoisin proving to be a money-spinner
I was worried about the ground as he is a typical Presenting and likes nice ground but he really handled it well and settled as well which was good as well. That man (Donal McInerney) is riding out of his skin too and that's his forte as he is cool and sat and waited with him. That's two 50,000 euro races he has won now and it was a professional performance. The time he was running in his hurdle rating, everyone was touting him but he had a chip in a knee then and just wasn't as good but he was feeling no pain today. I don't know where we'll go from here and Frank (Berry) will guide me in the right direction and while he'll have to step up in grade now, the future looks good for that horse.
Dempsey's run goes on, and on
she is starting to learn her job now and conditions suited her and it’s not too bad out there and she likes that ground. We’ll stick to something similar and will talk to Frank (Berry). The stable is in great form and long may it last and they couldn’t be better.
McInerney boots home Cork double
She wants soft but I thought the ground was a on the good side for her today and she was also showing signs of coming into season today. Her owner Tom McNulty is from Mayo and is going back to America on November 8 but will come back in February when the ground is again right for the mare to run.
Hollinsworth tastes victory with Sally Park
To be honest I could understand why he was 25/1 the last day but today (at 16/1) I thought someone knew something I didn't know, because I knew he'd improve. All he did since the last day was improve and we sold him to stay in the yard so it's brilliant. I sold my half to Tony McLynn and Tom Hollinsworth, who drives the box, owns the other half. Tom has had horses for 25 years and never had a winner but got given this lad so there's the luck you have!. He'll go for a maiden hurdle at Christmas next and really he's a chaser in the making. He's the only jumping horse we have at the minute.
