Approximately half a furlong out Willyorwon't He (GB), placed third, edged right-handed causing interference to Pledge Of Honour (GB), placed sixth, which made contact with Hotspur Harry (IRE), placed fifth, which in turn caused the rider of L'operateur (GB), unplaced, to have to ease.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Khatm (GB), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and was slowly away, and George Rooke reported that L'OPERATERU, unplaced, was denied a clear run.
