The Clerk of the Scales reported that Mark Crehan, the rider of Khatm (GB), placed fourth, trained by George Boughey, had weighed in at 8st 12Ibs, having weighed out at 8st 10Ibs.
The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Crehan was suspended for 3 days for weighing in at 2Ibs overweight.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Intrepidly (USA), which started second-favourite and finished unplaced, was never travelling and Peter Charalambous’s representative reported that the gelding appeared to be unsuited by the Standard polytrack surface on this occasion, which in their opinion, was riding deeper than usual.
George Boughey reported that Khatm (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, did not face the kickback on this occasion.
