An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately halfway down the back straight involving Danking (GB), placed third, ridden by Georgia King and Epaneema (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan.
As a 7lb claimer, King was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Whelan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left-handed towards the rail when not sufficiently clear of Danking (GB), causing King to check off heels.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1 furlong out involving Givepeaceachance (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Laura Pearson and Danking (GB), placed third, ridden by Georgia King.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Danking (GB)’s placing as Givepeaceachance (GB) had to be severely checked against the rail for a number of strides, losing significant ground and all momentum at a crucial stage of the race before Givepeaceachance (GB) had then rallied inside the final ½ furlong to be beaten a diminishing ½ length at the line.
The placings were revised as follows: First, Yagood (IRE); second, I'm Digby (IRE); third, Givepeaceachance (GB); fourth, Danking (GB).
King was suspended for 6 days for careless riding as she manoeuvred sharply left-handed when not sufficiently clear, causing considerable interference to Givepeaceachance (GB).
Following the race, Ciaran McKee reported that Clog Na Fola (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Trevor Whelan reported that Epaneema (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Al Mikdam (USA), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
