Nick Scholfield, the rider of Darcy Ward (FR), was unseated shortly after the start was effected.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved, and that the incident was accidental, caused by the gelding jinking right-handed, shortly after the tape was released, unseating Scholfield.
The Stewards were satisfied that Darcy Ward (FR) was deemed to be a runner.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Go Steady (GB), placed third, lost its right-fore shoe.
