The Stewards received a request from Norman Lee, trainer of Oskar High, to substitute the nominated rider A.M
King, with Mr R.P. Geoghegan, due to transport difficulties. Having considered the request, the Stewards allowed the nomination on this occasion, but were satisfied that A.M. King was in breach of Rule 196 (i) and having considered his record, they issued a fine of €200 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 196(v)
The Stewards fined Rodger Sweeney, trainer €65 for fitting cheek pieces to Matilda With Me which had not been declared and ordered their removal
B. Browne, rider of Glory Breeze trained by Miss Denise Marie O'Shea, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled in this race
