The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Colonel Bellew, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Conheady, rider of An Forghas, concerning the whip he used in this race, which appeared to fall short of the standard required. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that his whip was not approved for use on a racecourse and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr J. Conheady was in breach of Regulation 10.1 (use of only air cushioned whip permitted) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion
