Trinity Girl (GB), trained by Jessica Macey, did not enter the Parade Ring due to the filly proving difficult to saddle.
Approaching the 2 furlong marker, The Dancing Poet (GB), placed fourth, lugged left-handed momentarily, causing Juriste (IRE), unplaced, to be steadied when crowded for room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the position of The Dancing Poet (GB).
The winner, Beat The Breeze (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Nottingham on 8 May 2021 where the gelding finished seventh of eleven runners, beaten by 15 lengths.
The representative of Simon Dow explained that Beat The Breeze (GB) had appreciated the return to an all- weather surface, after too much use had been made of the gelding in the early stages on Soft ground at its previous run.
Their explanation was noted, and Beat The Breeze (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Stormy Night (GER), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of David Evans could offer no explanation for the colt’s performance, other than William Buick reporting that Stormy Night (GER) had stopped quickly from approaching the final 2 furlongs; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Ben Curtis reported that Juriste (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Silvestre De Sousa reported that Trinity Girl (GB), placed fifth, hung right-handed in the home straight.
