W.M. Lordan, rider of Catena Zapata trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced very keenly
The Stewards requested a report from M.Halford, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Golden Twilight, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway on the 29th July when finishing seventeenth of eighteen to Sionnach Eile. M. Halford reported that his charge did not handle the soft ground and the undulating track at Galway. He showed his liking for todays surface having been a previous winner here of two handicaps
Having considered the explanation the Stewards noted the content of the report.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that are EBF eligible and that at entry have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing, at least one of those runs having been on or after 1st July, 2021 (100 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
