Permission was given for Vixen (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
Vixen (IRE) cantered very freely to post.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the filly was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Bug Boy, ridden by Rhiain Ingram and trained by Ton Newcombe, which was held up towards the rear of the field before staying on well in the home straight under a hands and heels ride finishing fifth of fourteen, beaten by 4 ¼ lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that her instructions were to drop the gelding in from a wide draw and not to be stuck out wide without cover.
She added that she was instructed not to use her stick on the gelding as it does not tend to run for it.
She continued that Bug Boy made good progress in the straight, but she briefly had to stop riding in the final furlong when she was concerned that she would run onto the heels of Gregorian Girl (GB), unplaced.
She further added, that in her opinion, Bug Boy maybe suited by a step up in trip.
Her explanation was noted.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Magicinthemaking (USA), unplaced, hung right-handed in the straight, Josephine Gordon reported that GAME OF LIFE, unplaced, hung right-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that Elusif (IRE), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe.
