Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. H. T. Hynes, that P.T. Smithers, rider of Angelsworknovrtime, had failed to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had failed to present himself to weigh in and apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Rule 230, disqualified Angelsworknovrtime from sixth place
Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied that P. T. Smithers was in breach of Rule 227 and Rule 230 and having considered P. T. Smithers' record in this regard the Stewards suspended P. T. Smithers for two racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee
P. Townend, rider of Walk On The Moone trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
The Stewards requested a report from C. O'Keeffe, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kilbarry Chianti, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. C. O.'Keeffe stated that his charge did not handle the heavy ground at Cork last time out. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
