At the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Helvic Princess (GB), trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled ok, made a mistake at the 3rd last and just galloped on one paced to the line
The Stewards interviewed C.J. Orr, rider of Diamondinthemud, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip above the recommended guidelines and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that C.J. Orr was in breach of R10.3(g) and considering his record they suspended him for 2 racedays.
