The Stewards interviewed A. Mackay, rider of Sally Gap, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A. Makay was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (b) in that he used his whip unnecessarily when his chances of winning or being placed were clearly gone. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended A. Makay for 3 racedays
The Stewards interviewed S.M. Mooney, rider of No Trouble, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.M. Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Kody Ridge trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount laid back as the stalls opened and was reluctant to go forward
O.J. Orr, rider of Eyeoweyou trained by Karl Thornton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the start.
