At the top of the hill, Broomfield Burg (IRE), unplaced, stumbled after running onto the heels of Tax For Max (GER), which subsequently fell, and shortly after Broomfield Burg (IRE) became tight for room in a packing field when rounding the bend, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Jordan Gainford, the rider of Eclair De Beaufeu (FR), unplaced, was suspended for 5 days for using his whip when out of contention after the final hurdle.
Following the race, Jack Andrews reported that Stepney Causeway (GB), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
