The Stewards fined Mark Fahey, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Cappadocia, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cappadocia in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90
The Stewards considered a request from E. O'Connell, trainer of Gillabbey Rock, for the substitution of D.M
Simmonson (unwell) with P.A. Harnett. The Stewards considered the matter under Rule 198 and consulted with the handicapper. Having taken into account the conditions of the race and the lack of any other licenced rider qualified to ride in the race, the Stewards considered the circumstances to be very exceptional, allowed the substitution and the rider to carry 5lbs overweight
At the request of the Stewards, C.D. Maxwell, rider of Mr Michael, trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became unruly in stalls and was very slowly away.
