That is my second winner this week and we have been lucky. This is his third win at Limerick and he loves it here. He was well-in at the bottom of the weights and young Mark gave him a lovely ride. We had a metal manufacturing business in Shannon and I found the sport was a great way of getting to know customers. We are racing a long time now and this has been a good week, although you'd need it. The horses were going ok at home, are happy but I never think we will win as everyone else does too! He hasn't been straightforward, he was a bit keen early on in his career. He's going to win plenty of races - he's no Presenting Percy (brother) and he's not the biggest in the world, but he's going to win plenty of races. I'd say it is beautiful ground as it always is in Downpatrick. All credit to Downpatrick, every time you come into the racecourse there is something new. New vets box, new stable yard, new trotting up area. I think a lot of racecourses could take a leaf out of their book. I love this place. Both Downpatrick and Down Royal are so well supported, it is great to come racing to both tracks. He ran a lovely race in a better race the last day. The last day was just a disaster with the ground. I was kind of worried when all the rain came today, but it was loose. He's actually better than what he's shown, but he wants everything to go right for him. I said to David 'if you jump the first three here, you'll win'. The last day he didn't jump and he's dynamite to jump. David gave him a grand ride, he's a good young lad and is well able to ride. It's great to win here, he battled away. There was a little question mark if he would get the two-and-a-half today so I had that in the back of my mind. I would rather be going a stride slower than a stride quicker on that ground as well. I would maybe have preferred if a horse came with me to bring me to the leader but I had to go when I did. He got in tight to the last and was doing the bare minimum in front so hopefully there is another bit of improvement in him. He did it well. Danny gave him a good ride and everything was straightforward, he seemed to improve from the last day. We thought he had. They get caught eventually (by the handicapper) but he's definitely improving and he jumps a fence well. Nothing seemed to be going right early on. She made a few mistakes, probably because she wasn't travelling, and I was wondering if maybe the trip was a bit short for her, but there's only one place to be in front and that's the winning post. I'm really pleased because he's a horse that had hugely disappointed us. He is a grand horse, is very straightforward and I made too much use of him riding him myself in Sligo, when he also nearly tripped on a bend and it just didn't work out. I was saying to Kevin (O'Neill, cousin and assistant) that if he won one race a year, which he has done for the last three, that he'd be ok!
