The Stewards interviewed Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of She's Otto, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion Mr P.W. Mullins was in breach of Regulation 10 4 in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays. Owing to the low lying sun and in the interests of safety, the Stewards gave permission for fence no. 5 to be omitted from races 1 and 2 and hurdle no. 5 to be omitted from races 3, 4 and 5.
