Rounding the first bend Lynchpin, unplaced, when running keenly, clipped the heel of Right About Now (IRE), placed seventh, which was also running free, and shifted right-handed taking Sharp Operator (GB), placed fourth, off its intended line, which in turn took Squire (GB), placed sixth, off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately two furlongs out, Midoura (GB), unplaced, appeared to lose its action causing the rider to ease, hampering Roser Moter (IRE), unplaced, which shifted left-handed, taking Flying Moon (GER), placed eighth, off its intended line.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Midoura (GB), unplaced, lost action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
