Tulane (IRE) arrived at the start with a small amount of blood in its mouth.
After examination by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference at the 3 furlong marker involving Sir Joseph Swan (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Mr Simon Walker, Percy's Prince (GB), unplaced, ridden by Mr Joe Leavy and Fen Tiger (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Ross Birkett.
Being a 7lb claiming amateur, Leavy was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Birkett was suspended for 3 days for careless riding on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority as he failed to allow sufficient room to his left, allowing his mount to drift towards the rail, causing interference to Leavy and Walker, causing them to take checks.
Following the race Ross Birkett reported that Fen Tiger (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed; Matthew Ennis reported that Tulane (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run and Alicia Perkins reported that Affair (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
