An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race involving the winner, Typewritten (USA), ridden by Richard Kingscote and Copperplate (GB), placed second, ridden by Ross Coakley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Typewritten (USA)’s placing as it had come from behind and gave Copperplate (GB) only a slight bump approximately half a furlong out and was comfortably holding its position to win by ½ a length.
The interference was found to be accidental as Kingscote acted quickly to straighten his mount when it shifted left-handed.
Following the race, Darragh Keenan reported that Waltzing Intime (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling; George Downing reported that Hellavaheart (GB), placed sixth, hung right-handed; Callum Shepherd reported that Fellowship (IRE), unplaced, hung badly left-handed and that his saddle had slipped as a result.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
